Meet the #001 Corvette
Presenter: Corey Peterson, Historian                                                           

This is a rare chance to see the reportedly first ever manufactured Corvette, the 1953 Serial #001 Corvette! Historian Cory Peterson, who was part of the team that located the car, will be on hand to discuss the research behind #001 as well as the hunt to find it. He will answer all your questions including where the car has been for over 70 years and how it was located. And don’t be afraid to ask him the elephant in the room…. why he and many other historians believe it is truly is Serial #001!
Location: In the tent on the patio that houses the 001 Corvette. It is located by the info booth.

Early Days of Corvette Gatherings
Presenter: David Burroughs, founder Bloomington Gold Corvettes & Mike Yager, Chief Cheerleader Mid America Motorworks

Before there was internet, emails, smartphones…. way back to the 70’s!   How did Corvette aficionados come together?   What was the drive that brought them together?  How did these ‘gatherings’ grow to become ‘shows’.   What were the obstacles, what were the expectations?  Come hear from two of the (icons) who grew the corvette hobby and grew Corvette gatherings into some major car events in the world.

The Roar of The Fuelies
Be sure to be outside the Bone Student Center on University Dr as the Fuelies that make up the 2024 Gold Collection leave the Bone Student Center and drive to their trailers. Something you don’t want to miss hearing or seeing!
